XYZ Corp (anonymized company in the finance industry)
Challenge: XYZ Corp is a finance company that wanted to migrate to the cloud for long-term security, scalability, and flexibility. However, keeping all internal workloads hosted on-prem would not be feasible for future growth. The company needed the right infrastructure in place to achieve its growth plan.
Solution: To migrate to the cloud, XYZ Corp partnered with Nimbus Nova, an AWS Premier Partner with the knowledge and experience needed to plan, design, and perform the migration. Nimbus Nova was able to leverage AWS funding as part of the Statement of Work, which reduced out-of-pocket costs for XYZ Corp.
- The migration occurred in two phases:
- Phase 1 – Migrating into the AWS cloud: Nimbus Nova helped XYZ Corp migrate into the AWS cloud. They leveraged Amazon FSx for Windows File Server with Native Multi-AZ Deployment features to “lift and shift” XYZ Corp’s on-prem infrastructure to the cloud. They also introduced emerging technology, including Okta for built-in, scalable authentication.
- Phase 2 – Migrate dev workloads into AWS: During this phase, Nimbus Nova will help XYZ Corp streamline SIEM logic and build out automated workflows to enforce compliance controls and improve future scalability.
Results: With Nimbus Nova’s help, XYZ Corp’s migration to AWS went smoothly. Now, the finance company has the infrastructure to support future growth, including built-in security and compliance controls, and fully-managed cloud support.
The company estimates that by partnering with Nimbus Nova, they saved hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars during the migration.
